To encourage, recognize and support young Catholic community servants by awarding college scholarships and other forms of financial aid. This effort will help build up God's Kingdom by supporting the development of young Catholic leaders who are working to "make the world a more fitting place for all to live". The Rebekah Leah Rivera Foundation will also support existing organizations or create new organizations that will develop these types of young leaders.
About the Program
Rebekah Leah Rivera was a member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church who died on June 20, 2004. She attended Mary Immaculate School and graduated from Ursuline Academy of Dallas in 2001. She also had strong ties with Jesuit Preparatory School of Dallas.
Rebekah lived a life of loving service to her church and community. For this reason, her friends and family wish to keep her memory alive by awarding scholarships to young people who live their lives with that same spirit.
About the Foundation
The Rebekah Leah Rivera Foundation was established in 2005 in memory of Rebekah Leah Rivera, who served her community with great love and enthusiasm. Our Foundation provides college/university, high school and grade school scholarships for students who are dedicated to service throughout our community. Our Foundation was established and is maintained through the generosity of many businesses and individuals who share our values. To date, we have awarded 84 scholarships totaling $125,500. Our goal is to award 16 scholarships totaling $20,000 this year.
