Mary Immaculate Catholic Church ť Spirit of Love Scholarship

Two scholarships, awarded in memory of MIS alumnae Rebekah Leah Rivera '97, will be presented at this dinner to students who best demonstrate that they use their God given gifts and talents to serve their community.

This year, the scholarships will be presented to MIS eighth grader, Francesca Gomez, and to alumnae, Laura Mixtacki ‘06. In addition to dinner, alumni Scott McCurry, MIS '98 and his band the Mercenaries will be providing live music, with guest musician, Thomas Woods. A live and silent auction will be held, with alumni dad, Dean McCurry as auctioneer.

Scholarship Overview:

Rebekah Leah Rivera was a member of Mary Immaculate Church who died on June 20, 2004. She attended Mary Immaculate School and graduated from Ursuline Academy in 2001. She also had strong ties with Jesuit Preparatory School.

Rebekah lived a life of loving service to her church and community. For this reason, her friends and family wish to keep her memory alive by awarding scholarships to young people who live their lives with that same spirit.

(These scholarships are provided by the Spirit of Love Scholarship Organization. The Spirit of Love Scholarship Organization is not directly connected to Mary Immaculate Church or its ministries.)

La Vista General de la Beca:

Rebekah Leah Rivera era un miembro de la Iglesia de María Inmaculada quién falleció el 20 de junio del 2004. Ella asistió a la Escuela de María Inmaculada y se graduó de la Academia de las Ursulinas en el 2001. Ella también estuvo involucrada con la Comunidad de los Jesuitas.

Rebekah vivió una vida de servicio amoroso a su Iglesia y comunidad. Por esta razón, sus amigos y familiares desean mantener su memoria viva otorgando becas a la gente joven que viven sus vidas con el mismo espíritu.
