Share Your Talents
In our community there is an abundance of talents and skills.  Each of these talents and/or skills is important in carrying out the mission of Mary Immaculate Parish.  How great our parish is when we all use our gifts for good.

Ministerios en la Parroquia de María Inmaculada

·         Aids Supper Club - Volunteers from the parish provide a hot meal on the 1st Wednesday and 5th Sunday of the month to residents of Ewing House, part of the AIDS Services of Dallas. Food is brought to the church and then taken to the Ewing House  Rita Ford

·         Altar Linens - Volunteers sign up for a two week period to wash and iron the purificators and towels used during the daily Mass  Beth Crouch


·         Altar Servers Volunteers assist the priest and deacon in the celebration of the mass liturgy. We welcome all boys and girls who have completed 3rd grade to serve in this ministry  Debra Tullis


·         Children’s Liturgy of the Word - During Saturday evening and Sunday morning English masses, trained catechists lead the children from the church to a separate room where we proclaim the readings and share a reflection that is age-appropriate.   Adult and teen volunteers are needed for the readings and reflection and to help maintain a safe environment for our children, ages 4 to 10 years.  Beth Crouch


·         Divine Mercy Volunteers pray for those who request prayer  Grace Gagnet


·         Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion Volunteers bring Jesus to the people at Mass or outside of Mass for those who are sick and cannot attend Mass  Jeanette Fey
·         Sacristans Volunteers prepare for each Mass by cleaning and setting out what is needed for the service.  This includes vessels, appropriate amounts of hosts and wine, the linens, and candles

·         First Friday Adoration Volunteers sign up for a one hour worship period and maintain a presence throughout the 24 hour adoration period on First Fridays each month  Grace Gagnet


·         Lectors Volunteers are trained readers who proclaim the Word of God to us during Mass. Lectors should be both baptized and confirmed  Beth Crouch


·         Lifelong Faith is a team of parishioners who coordinate activities to help our parish grow as a faith community. All different types of talents and skills are needed, from planning events to baking cookies to inviting parishioners to attend events  Beth Crouch


·         Marriage Preparation Volunteers are married sponsor couples who, over a 4 week period, present “In Faithful Love”, the marriage preparation for those preparing to marry in the church Rita Ford


·         Meals for Funerals Volunteers help the Parish provide a meal on the day of the funeral of a parishioner. Volunteers are divided into “teams” and called every 3 months to help provide the meal for the family of the deceased. Food is brought to the church and then delivered to the family  Rita Ford


·         Music Ministry Volunteers belong to choirs who provides music for each mass  Thomas Woods

·         Prayer Shawl Ministry Volunteers knit and/or crochet shawls that are given to those who are ill or grieving the loss of a loved one – or are just having a difficult time. This ministry meets on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 9:30 a.m. Prayer is offered for all the shawl makers and recipients. Yarn is provided to the shawl makers through donations of parishioners  Rita Ford

·         Religious Education Volunteers teach our parish children the Catholic faith. There are many opportunities to volunteer other than teaching. Please ask us how we can use you!  Caroline Schutz

·         RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) – Welcomes new members to the Catholic Faith. Through a series of prayers, teachings, reflections and finally sacramental celebrations, people who were never baptized, or who were baptized into another tradition, are welcomed into full membership. Volunteers are needed all along the way as catechists who present various aspects of our faith, sponsors who companion each candidate individually,  and team members who help with hospitality or any variety of other tasks  Beth Crouch 

·         Ushers Volunteers greet and welcome the community as they gather, help keep order and gather our gifts at the presentation of the gifts during Mass  Jeanette Fey        


·        Welcoming Committee Volunteers reach out to visitors and new registered members of the parish.  Visitors and newcomers are greeted each Sunday and invited to register for parish information  Bob Finch


·         Young Adult Ministry is the outreach service of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church to women and men in their twenties and thirties, married and single 


·         Youth Ministry provides religious training, social events, and retreats for 7th thru 12th grade students, made possible by our volunteer staff.   If you are a person of prayer, love talking with teens, going on retreats, playing music, leading service projects, acting in skits, are great with office work or technology, coordinating social events or just want to help protect our youth, we need your volunteer help.
